Huang Chih-Kun Taiwan

Dr. Chih-Kun Huang is working in China Medical University Hospital , Taiwan as the Director of Metabolic & Bariatric surgery department , Superintendent of International Center, and also Superintendent of Body-science & Metabolic disorders International (B.M.I) Medical Center. He is also is the Founder & President of Taiwan Obesity Support Association (T.O.S.A) and Founding chairman of International Excellence Federation (I.E.F) for Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery. Dr Huang has been devoted to minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery for more than 20 years. He finished worldwide 1st single incision trans-umbilical laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass in 2008 and Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banded plication(LAGBP) in 2009 and Laparoscopic loop duodenojejunal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (LDJBSG) in 2010. “Sleeve Plus” a theory incorporating sleeve gastrectomy and small bowel bypass to create better weight loss and remission of comorbidities is also postulated by him. His center was designated as 1st International Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery (I.C.E) in Asia-Pacific area in 2009. He is very keen in medical education and research, that more than 130 international fellows were trained under him for bariatric and metabolic surgery in 15 years, and he also has published more than 100 SCI papers till 2025. He is invited to lots of international meetings and congress in the world and also held IFSO-APC 2013, and then I.E.F Forum & Asia obesity walk biennially.
