Kyu Eun Lee Korea (Republic of)

Prof. Kyu Eun Lee is a Professor of Surgery at Seoul National University College of Medicine and the Chief of Endocrine Surgery at Seoul National University Hospital. His clinical interests include thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgeries, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques. He is the lead developer of the Bilateral Axillo-Breast Approach (BABA) robotic thyroidectomy, a pioneering scarless surgical technique. Dr. Lee's research interests extend to the molecular genetics of thyroid cancer, its role in tumorigenesis, diagnosis, and prognosis, and he has authored over 160 SCI-indexed papers. His work has also advanced the application of technologies like AI, AR, and VR in medicine, and he currently leads the Seoul National University Project Group for Education and Research in Medical AI. As an active member of numerous national and international medical societies, he was appointed as a council member of the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons (IAES) in August 2024. He also serves as the Associate Dean for Planning at Seoul National University College of Medicine.
