Short CV: Dr Francis Seow-Choen
Francis Seow-Choen is a colorectal surgeon in private practice. He was head of the Department of Colorectal Surgery from 1994-2003, as well as Head of the Endoscopy Centre at Singapore General Hospital and the founding Head of Surgical Oncology at National Cancer Centre, Singapore.

Professor Seow-Choen has more than 46 Chapters in Medical text Books. He has more than 280 published papers in refereed Medical Journals.
Apart from his professional work, he is an associate researcher with Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum and the National Biodiversity Board in Singapore. He was also founder chairman with Guide Dogs of the Blind in Singapore for more than a decade. He has published eleven books on stick-insects and has described and named more than 250 new stick-insect species from South-East Asia. He has published one guide book on Snakes.
