Dr. Vishalkumar G. Shelat is a Senior Consultant in Hepato-Biliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore, and Adjunct Associate Professor at both the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He also serves as Director of the Surgical Science Training Centre and Associate Director of the Centre of Medical Ethics and Professionalism at the Singapore Medical Association. A recipient of the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship (Public Service Commission, Singapore) and the ACS NSQIP Scholarship (American College of Surgeons), Dr. Shelat combines clinical excellence with a strong commitment to healthcare quality and patient safety. He has also completed the Surgical Ethics Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, USA, further strengthening his leadership at the interface of surgery and ethics. With over 280 publications indexed in PubMed and an H-index of 50, he has contributed extensively to surgical literature. He serves on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Shelat maintains a clinical portfolio spanning open, laparoscopic, and robotic hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, alongside general surgery and endoscopy.
