Mya Thway Tint
Dr Mya Thway Tint is a Principal Scientist at the Institute for Human Development and Potential (IHDP), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. Her research focuses on musculoskeletal and metabolic health in women and their offsprings, with an emphasis on understanding how body composition, hormonal transitions, and nutritional factors influence functional and cognitive healthspan across the life course. Dr Tint leads population-based and translational research from A*STAR’s national longitudinal cohorts including GUSTO and S-PRESTO to identify early biological and lifestyle determinants of muscle, bone, and metabolic resilience in Asian populations. Her recent work highlights the “normal-weight obesity” and “sarcopenic-adiposity” phenotypes in young Asian women and their implications for early prevention of frailty, fractures, and cardiometabolic diseases.
