Dr. Hye Yoon Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Breast and Endocrine Surgery, at Korea University Ansan Hospital, Korea University College of Medicine. She received her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Korea University, Seoul, Korea. Dr. Lee completed her internship, residency, and fellowship training in Breast and Endocrine Surgery at Korea University Medical Center, where she developed her expertise in the multidisciplinary management of breast cancer.
Her clinical and research interests focus on breast cancer surgery, neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy strategies, and surgical outcomes research. In particular, she has a strong interest and expertise in robotic and endoscopic breast surgery, and she has been actively involved in academic activities related to minimally invasive breast surgery through national society. Her work aims to improve cosmetic outcomes and quality of life for breast cancer patients through innovative surgical techniques.
Since 2017, Dr. Lee has been working at Korea University Ansan Hospital, where she is actively engaged in clinical practice, education, and research. From 2022 to 2023, she also served as a Visiting Professor in Breast Surgery at the University of California, Irvine, participating in international collaborative research and advanced surgical training.
Dr. Lee is a board-certified general surgeon and an active member of the Korean Breast Cancer Society, Korean Surgical Society, and Korean Society of Surgical Oncology, among others.
