Dr. Shigeki Yamaguchi is a leading expert in colorectal and minimally invasive surgery with over 30 years of clinical and academic experience. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from Yokohama City University and completed advanced surgical training in Japan and at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He has held leadership roles at several major institutions, including Saitama Medical University and Shizuoka Cancer Center, and currently serves as Professor of Surgery at Tokyo Women’s Medical University. Dr. Yamaguchi is board-certified in multiple surgical specialties and is widely recognized for his research on laparoscopic colorectal surgery, functional outcomes, and oncologic techniques. His work has earned multiple international awards, including the Gerald Marks Award (SAGES 2013) and Best Presentation Awards at Japan DDW and ISUCRS. He is a Fellow of ACS, ASCRS, and JSS, and currently serves as Regional Vice President of ISUCRS.
